Consumers
I have never been more agitated before in my life. Working at Chevron just might kill me. It’s not like I’m doing a lot of hard work or anything. It’s just the customers. I get amazed on a daily basis at just how stupid people can be. This is ranging from our computer “wrongly calculating” (They apparently have masters degrees in English and mathematics as well) the cost of the items they are purchasing all the way to Chevron specifically targeting certain individuals to deny them gas. According to the customers our pumps are “broken piles of garbage” about 90% of the time. That’s when I get to go out there just to see that they have been swiping their cards the wrong way. We have a diagram with written instructions on how to swipe your card right beside the card reader. However, they’ll tell me that the only reason it worked for me is because we are “trying to f*** with [them].” The other day I met the recipient of the International Order of Idiots Award. A man parks in the full serve pump. So, I go out to help him. This was the most grievous of errors. I notice him putting air in his tires. I asked if he was getting gas or just putting air in. He asked me what time it was. I told him it was 9:01 pm. Then, he conjured up a receipt from 8:51 pm. This highly confused me because if he had already gotten gas I was wondering why he moved to the full serve pump. After this, he pointed out how my common sense was lacking in depth. Although, not in so many words. I wasn’t aware of this but, according to him I was supposed to know that he had pumped gas, moved to the full serve, and waited there for about ten minutes until he saw me coming out and then begin to put air in. All of this was to “make it easier for [me].” I apologized and said that I meant no offence. He would go on to point out that me doing my job is great offence to him. I then departed. Boy, if only murder was legal eh? How do you feel about people with lesser intelligence?
